Everyone believes that Sarah McKenzie’s death was an accident. Who would want to kill a young, bright, soon-to-be high school graduate? Larry Holmgren, however, disagrees. He and Sarah were investigating the ten year old murder of Kelly DuFresne, and whoever killed Kelly might have had a good reason to get rid of Sarah, too.
The normally antisocial, paranoid Larry is forced to enlist the help of Frannie Verlain, Sarah’s best friend, to dig deeper into Sarah’s death. The investigation will lead them to wonder how much they’re willing to sacrifice to uncover the truth, and even whether it is a wise idea to reveal what they’ll find out.
After all, if a tree falls and no one hears it, does it even make a sound?
